  • 45)  “MONGOL KANJUR” LAUNCHED IN INDIA

    On July 4, 2020, President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind virtually inaugurated the celebrations for the Dharma Chakra Day 2020. It was organized by the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), in Partnership with Union Ministry of Culture, from the Rashtrapati Bhawan at New Delhi on the occasion of Asadha Poornima (also known as Guru Purnima), a Full Moon day or Purnima that occurs in the Hindu month of Ashadha (July) as per Indian sun calendar.

  • 46)  HELPING HAND OF A FRIEND

    The Centre for Indian Studies in Mongolia and NGOs of Mongolia in June this year raised funds and gave in aid PPE to the Indian people through the Ambassador of India in Mongolia Shri. M.P. Singh in in sign of solidarity during the global combat against COVID-19. The PPEs were made in India and are reusable and they were handed by Mr. O. Nyamdaa, President of the Centre for Indian Studies in Mongolia and former Ambassador Mongolia to India.

  • 47)  COVID-19 AND MONGOLIA’S RESPONSE

    India is hosting more than 800 Buddhist lamas at various monasteries in India. The Mongolian lamas – monks are learning in Buddhist philosophy, tantrism and general Buddhism. Apart from the Buddhist lama, there are also hundreds of Mongoilans studying under ITEC and ICCR scholarship programmes, pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorates degrees in various disciplines, and a large chunk of Mongolians are in India for learning English, IT, yoga and also on pilgrimage.

    A delegation of Governors and top executives of aimags (provinces) of Mongolia led by Mr. L.Oyun-Erdene, Minister of Mongolia and Chief Cabinet Secretary visited Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in January 2020, under the ITEC Executive Programme for Leadership and Policy training.
